Augusta, GA (September 16, 2025) – The Augusta Sports Council and the Ray Guy Award named Luke Freer of Air Force as the Week Three Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week. Freer was chosen from Ray’s 8, announced Monday.

The senior from Fairhope, Ala. registered three punts for 170 yards, and a 55.0 net punting average against Utah State. Freer managed two of his punts inside the 20, and all three punts went over 50 yards with no touchbacks. He had a 59-yard boot downed at the one-yard line, and his longest punt went for 60 yards and was downed at the three-yard line.

Freer, who is on the Ray Guy Award watch list for 2025, has a 46.5 career mark which broke the Air Force record of All-American Mark Simon. He is averaging 53.3 yards per punt this season. He would lead the MW by nearly six yards per punt and lead the nation by two years per punt, but he lacks enough attempts to qualify.

Congratulations to Luke Freer for being “our guy” this week!
