COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West has announced the Women’s Tennis All-Tournament Team, as selected by the league’s 11 head coaches. The team recognizes student-athletes who competed in the majority of the conference tournament at the position for which they were selected. This year’s All-Tournament Team features representatives from Air Force, Boise State and UNLV.
Boise State’s Zdena Safarova was named MW Tournament MVP after going undefeated at No. 1 singles with wins over Fresno State, San Diego State and UNLV. She was joined by teammates Maya Dutta, Paula Schaefer and Masa Viriant, who were recognized at No. 2, No. 4, and No. 6 singles, respectively. UNLV’s Coco Zhao also delivered a standout performance, going unbeaten at No. 3 singles, while teammate Kaho Oyama finished the week 2-0 with one match left unfinished.
Air Force had a strong showing in doubles with the pairings of Arianna Van Houweling and Nadia Kojonroj at No. 1 doubles and Shivaani Selvan and Sofia Mavor at No. 3 doubles, both turning in impressive performances throughout the week. UNLV’s duo of Zhao and Cindy Hu went undefeated on the week, earning a spot at No. 2 doubles.
