COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State senior Sky Collins has been named the Mountain West Baseball Player of the Week, while UNLV sophomore LJ Mercurius has been selected the MW Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Washington State rookie Kyler Northrop has been selected as the MW Baseball Freshman of the Week.

SKY COLLINS, FRESNO STATE

Senior, Outfielder, Fresno, California/Buchanan HS

  • Helped Fresno State to a Conference series sweep over New Mexico.
  • Batted .500 in four starts with eight hits, including two for extra bases, seven RBIs and four runs scored.
  • Posted three multi-hit efforts and a .750 slugging percentage.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

LJ MERCURIUS, UNLV

Sophomore, Las Vegas, Nevada/Faith Lutheran HS

  • Made one start on the mound last week, earning the 3-0 victory over in-state rival Nevada.
  • Threw a complete-game shutout, limiting the Wolf Pack to just three singles and no walks.
  • Struck out 12 batters in UNLV’s first complete-game nine-inning shutout since 2015.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

KYLER NORTHROP, WASHINGTON STATE

Infielder, Billings, Montana/Central HS

  • Helped Washington State to a 3-1 record last week, including a series victory over San José State and a midweek win over Gonzaga.
  • Batted .389 with seven hits, four RBIs, one run scored and a walk.
  • Recorded a multi-hit effort in three of four starts.
