COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Nevada senior Youssef Kadiri has been named the Mountain West Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, while teammate Max Contet has been tabbed the MW Men’s Tennis Freshman of the Week.

On the women’s side, Boise State sophomore Zdena Safarova earned the MW Women’s Tennis Player of the Week nod, while teammate Maya Dutta was tabbed the MW Women’s Tennis Freshman of the Week.

MEN’S TENNIS PLAYER/FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
YOUSSEF KADIRI, NEVADA
Senior, Casablanca, Morocco/Oregon

  • Finished the week undefeated at 3-0.
  • Went 2-0 in doubles while competing at the top flight in all four matches, one of which went unfinished.
  • Dominated doubles against Air Force, playing a key role in the team’s 4-3 victory.

MEN’S TENNIS FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
MAX CONTET, NEVADA
Cagnes-sur-Mer, France/Centre national d’enseignement à distance

  • Recorded a 2-1 mark for the week.
  • Won both matches against Air Force.
  • Clinched the win with a 7-6 (2) doubles victory over Air Force.
  • Delivered a dominant performance in a singles win over Air Force.

WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ZDENA SAFAROVA, BOISE STATE
Sophomore, Prague, Czech Republic/Oklahoma

  • Went undefeated at No. 1 singles and doubles.
  • Secured points in both singles and doubles to help lead the Broncos to a 4-0 win over No. 55 Nevada.
  • Delivered a strong performance in singles, winning her singles match in straight sets (6-1, 7-5).

  • Went undefeated at No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles.
