COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Wyoming’s Daniel Reynolds has been named the 2025 Mountain West Men’s Indoor Track & Field Student-Athlete of the Year, while New Mexico’s Pamela Kosgei has been named the 2025 MW Women’s Indoor Track and Field Student-Athletes of the Year, as voted on by the league’s head coaches.

The honor is awarded to the best male and female student-athletes in the Conference following the conclusion of the indoor season.

For Reynolds, the honor comes on the heels of a record-setting indoor season for the senior which culminated in a NCAA National Championship in the weight throw, becoming the first Wyoming student-athlete since 2005 and first Mountain West men’s student-athlete to capture a national title since 2018. His title-winning throw of 25.08 meters set facility and NCAA meet records, while also setting the all-time Mountain West record for a sixth time this season.

The First Team All-American won his second straight Mountain West weight throw title at the 2025 championship with his throw of 25.06 meters setting a MW meet record and ranking as the No. 2 throw in the NCAA all time, which he improved on at the NCAA meet. He also added a MW shot put title at the 2025 meet.

Capping his outstanding campaign, the Granby, Colorado, native was named the 2025 NCAA Division I Men’s Indoor Track and Field National Field Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) to go along with his USTFCCCA Mountain Region Indoor Field Athlete of the Year award.

Reynolds is the first student-athlete, men or women, from Wyoming to earn the Conference’s top honor.

On the women’s side, Kosgei is the third women’s student-athlete from New Mexico to garner the award and the first since Weini Kelati in 2020.

The Elgeyo-Marakwet County, Kenya native has been a freshman sensation for the Lobos as she led the New Mexico women to its first Mountain West Championship Title in 11 years.

She swept the mile, 3,000-meter and 5,000-meter races at the Conference meet, becoming the first in Mountain West women’s indoor history to sweep all three races at the event. Her winning times in the 3,000 meter (9:08.28) and 5,000 meter (15:53.72) also set Championship meet records.

At the NCAA Indoor Championships, Kosgei captured a pair of All-American honors, finishing third overall (15:07.57) in the 5,000-meter race to garner first team honors and recording a 12th-place finish in the 3,000-meter race (9:04.42) to earn a spot on the second team.
