BATON ROUGE, La. — The 14th-seeded San Diego State women’s basketball team had its season come to an end with a 103-48 loss to No. 10/10 and third-seeded LSU Saturday night at LSU’s Maravich Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The Aztecs, who had their eight-game winning streak snapped, finished with a 25-10 record, their most victories in a season since winning a school-record 27 in the 2012-13 campaign. It is SDSU’s sixth season with at least 25 wins.
The Tigers (29-5), who most recently won an NCAA title in the 2022-23 season, jumped out to an 11-0 lead, led by 17 at the end of the first quarter and by 29 at halftime. LSU will play sixth-seeded Florida State in the NCAA Second Round on Monday.
Playing in their first NCAA Tournament since 2012, San Diego State was led by Adryana Quezada’s eight points. Jazlen Green and Nat Martinez chipped in with seven points apiece.
Flau’Joe Johnson led LSU with 22 points and four steals, while Aneesa Morrow had a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
