COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West announced the 2025 Indoor Track & Field All-Conference team, which is composed of the top three finishers in each individual event and the top three relay teams at the Credit Union 1 Mountain West Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championships.
The New Mexico women won their first MW championship in a decade, while the Colorado State men took the MW indoor title for the second consecutive year.
The Lobos won their third title in program history after tallying 136.5 points. The Rams collected 165 points to claim their sixth Mountain West title.
New Mexico’s Darren Gauson, who was the 2024 MW Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Coach of the Year in the fall, earned his first MW Women’s Indoor Coach of the Year honor at the conclusion of the event. Colorado State head coach Brian Bedard was named the MW Men’s Coach of the Year for a second straight year, his fifth men’s coach of the year honor of his career.
San Diego State’s Shaquena Foote was named the MW Women’s Outstanding Track Performer of the Meet after sweeping the 200-meter and 400-meter races. The junior’s 200-meter time of 22.89 ranks third in the Mountain West all-time, while her 400-meter time of 51.48 set both a MW championship meet record and the Conference’s all-time record. For a second consecutive year, the MW Men’s Outstanding Track Performer of the Meet award went to New Mexico’s Habtom Samuel after the sophomore won both long distance events and broke his own MW championship records in the 5,000-meter (13:33.43) and 3,000-meter (7:55.33) races.
Colorado State’s Mya Lesnar was named the MW Women’s Outstanding Field Performer of the Meet in back-to-back years after winning her second straight shot put title and finishing second in the weight throw. Her winning throw in the shot put of 19.02 meters was the second-best distance in the Mountain West all-time, only behind her own record of 19.10 meters that she set at last year’s championship meet. Wyoming’s Daniel Reynolds was selected as the MW Men’s Outstanding Field Performer of the Meet after sweeping the weight throw and shot put titles, with his winning weight throw of 25.06 meters leading the country this season and ranking No. 3 in the NCAA all time.
