ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Colorado State repeated as men’s team champions and New Mexico won its first women’s team title since 2015 to wrap up the final day of the 2025 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championships Saturday at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

The Colorado State men claimed their sixth MW title and second in a row after scoring 165 points to beat out second-place New Mexico (161). CSU won four individual events at the 2025 meet.

New Mexico won its third team title and first in a decade with 136.5 points in total, with five individual champions.

Colorado State head coach Brian Bedard was named the MW Men’s Coach of the Year and New Mexico head coach Darren Gauson earned MW Women’s Coach of the Year honors at the conclusion of the meet. Bedard has now been named the league’s men’s coach of the year five times, with Gauson earning his first Track Coach of the Year award after being named Men’s Cross Country Coach of the Year in 2023 and Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Coach of the Year in 2024.

San Diego State’s Shaquena Foote was named the MW Women’s Outstanding Track Performer of the Meet award after winning gold in both the 400 meters and 200 meters. The MW Men’s Outstanding Track Performer of the Meet award went to New Mexico’s Habtom Samuel for the second year in a row after winning both long distance events and breaking his own MW championship records in both events.

Colorado State’s Mya Lesnar was named the MW Women’s Outstanding Field Performer of the meet, winning the shot put and finishing second in the weight throw. Wyoming’s Daniel Reynolds was selected as the MW Men’s Outstanding Field Performer of the Meet after winning both the shot put and weight throw with new championship records in both.
