COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State senior forward Tyson Degenhart has been named the Mountain West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Bronco teammate Pearson Carmichael was selected as the MW Men’s Basketball Freshman of the Week.
This is the second weekly honor for Degenhart in 2024-25 and first for Carmichael.
MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
TYSON DEGENHART, BOISE STATE
Senior, Forward, Spokane, Washington/Mt. Spokane HS
- Led Boise State to a pair of wins over New Mexico (86-78) and Nevada (70-69).
- Averaged 23 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, while shooting 46.4 from the field and 81.8 percent from the charity stripe.
- Against the Lobos, tallied a career-high 32 points and made 13-of-15 attempts from the free-throw line. Also added seven boards, two assists and one steal.
- Against the Wolf Pack, recorded 14 points, two rebounds, a steal and an assist.
MEN’S BASKETBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
PEARSON CARMICHAEL, BOISE STATE
Forward, Bend, Oregon/Summit HS
- Helped Boise State to a 2-0 record with victories over New Mexico (86-78) and Nevada (70-69).
- Averaged 11.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and one assist, while shooting 40 percent from the floor.
- In the win over the Lobos, posted a career-best 21 points behind a 5-for-11 effort from the field. Also recorded five boards and an assist in his first start for the Broncos.
- Against the Wolf Pack, registered two points, two rebounds and an assist.
