HOUSTON – For the fourth consecutive year and the ninth time overall, the San Diego State Aztecs claimed the Credit Union 1 Mountain West Swimming and Diving Championships title, totaling 1,283 points over the four-day meet at the CRCWC Natatorium located on the University of Houston’s campus.
AWARDS
Washington State’s Emily Lundgren was named swimmer of the meet, while teammate Darcy Revitt and Wyoming’s Macey Hansen collected co-freshman of the meet honors. San Diego State’s Valentina Lopez Arevalo was voted diver of the year for the second consecutive year.
San Diego State’s Alex Roberts garnered the 2025 Senior Recognition Award for her dedication to sport, teammates and community.
RESULTS
In the 1,650-yard freestyle, Wyoming’s Macey Hansen captured gold with a first-place time of 16:07.75. Nevada’s Keira-Lee Allott came in second with a time of 16:26.51, while UNLV’s Ava Olson filled in the top three with a time of 16:27.73. All three times marked NCAA B Standards.
In the 200-yard backstroke, San Diego State’s Abby Storm swam the fifth-fastest all-time Conference time of 1:54.03 to secure first place, while teammate Alex Roberts took second with a time of 1:55.38. Colorado State’s Tess Whineray placed third with a time of 1:56.49. All three times marked NCAA B Standards.
In the 100-yard freestyle, Washington State’s Darcy Revitt placed first with a time of 48.66, while her preliminary time of 48.11 was the Conference’s third-fastest time of all-time. San Diego State’s Meredith Smithbaker came in second with a time of 48.89, while UNLV’s Fernanda Mendez Guerra came one-hundredth of a second later (48.90) to fill out the top three. All three times marked NCAA B Standards.
Washington State’s Emily Lundgren set a Mountain West all-time and Championship record in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:07.08, beating her previous all-time Conference record of 2:08.16 that she set in November. Fresno State’s Jenna Pulkkinen clocked a second-place time of 2:09.53, while teammate Aliz Kalmar finished one-hundredth of a second later (2:09.54) to fill out the top three. All three times marked NCAA B Standards.
Washington State’s Dori Hathazi claimed the 200-yard butterfly title with a time of 1:55.55, while second-place Nevada’s Sally Vagg finished in 1:57.52. Both times marked NCAA B Standards. Nevada’s Yasmin Perry claimed bronze, finishing in 1:59.55.
San Diego State’s Valentina Lopez Arevalo claimed her third consecutive platform diving title, scoring a total of 325.95 points. In second place was Nevada’s Bailey Heydra with 304.00 points, and New Mexico’s Isabella Gomez scored 294.40 point to claim bronze.
In final event of the championships, San Diego State took gold in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:15.68. In second place was UNLV with a time of 3:16.33, while Washington State placed third with a time of 3:17.02.
