COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Several repeat appearances graced weekly awards as gymnasts from Boise State, San José State and Utah State found their performances recognized again as the Mountain West announced weekly gymnastics awards for Week 6 of the 2025 season.

ALL-AROUNDER OF THE WEEK
DEVYN VALUCH, SAN JOSÉ STATE
So., Rohnert Park, California / Casa Grande HS

  • Scored a conference-best 38.975 in the all-around in a dual meet at Boise State.
  • Recorded a 9.675 on vault, 9.775 on bars, 9.775 on beam and 9.750 on floor en route to her all-around total.

VAULT & CO-FLOOR SPECIALIST OF THE WEEK
NYLA MORABITO, UTAH STATE
So., Welland, Ontario, Canada / Notre Dame College School

  • Scored a league-best 9.825 on vault at the Metroplex Challenge against Texas Woman’s and Cal.
  • Also scored a league-best 9.875 on floor at the meet to share weekly honors with teammate Olivia Orengo.
  • Morabito has been recognized as Vault Specialist of the Week four times this season, including back-to-back weeks.
  • Morabito has also garnered a pair of Floor Specialist of the Week awards this season.

BARS SPECIALIST OF THE WEEK
EMILY LOPEZ, BOISE STATE
Sr., Mission Viejo, California / Trabuco Hills HS

  • Scored a league-best 9.950 on bars in a dual meet against San José State, matching the top score in MW history on the event.
  • The mark is the highest on any event by any gymnast this season in the MW.
  • Also competed on vault and beam, scoring a 9.800 and 9.850, respectively.
  • Lopez has been recognized as Bars Specialist of the Week three times this season.

BEAM SPECIALIST & FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
KRISTINA SHCHENNIKOVA, BOISE STATE
Fr., Morrison, Colorado / Lakewood HS

  • Scored a league-best 9.900 on beam in a dual meet against San José State.
  • The 9.900 was the highest mark by a freshman in the conference on any event this week.
  • Matched the mark on bars at the meet, scoring a 9.900 to finish second on the event to teammate Emily Lopez.
  • Shchennikova has won Beam Specialist and Freshman of the Week each of the last two weeks.
  • Overall, Shchennikova has been recognized as Freshman of the Week three times this season.

CO-FLOOR SPECIALIST OF THE WEEK
OLIVIA ORENGO, UTAH STATE
Fr., Rogers, Minnesota / Rogers HS

  • Scored a league-best 9.875 on floor at the Metroplex Challenge against Texas Woman’s and Cal.
  • Shared weekly honors with teammate Nyla Morabito.

All four MW teams will be back in action this weekend, with Utah State hosting Boise State on Friday at 7 p.m. MT and San José State welcoming Air Force and UC Davis for a tri-meet Sunday at 2 p.m. PT.

The 2025 regular season will culminate at the Credit Union 1 MW Gymnastics Championship, slated to be hosted by San José State on Saturday, March 22. Tickets are available at this link or through the SJSU ticket office.
