COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –Nevada senior Youssef Kadiri has been named the Mountain West Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, while Boise State’s Dylan Jaen has been tabbed the MW Men’s Tennis Freshman of the Week.

On the women’s side, UNLV senior Coco Zhao earned the MW Women’s Tennis Player of the Week nod, while Rebel teammate Kaho Oyama was tabbed the MW Women’s Tennis Freshman of the Week.

 

MEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
YOUSSEF KADIRI, NEVADA
Senior, Casablanca, Morocco/Oregon

  • Posted a 3-0 combined record in singles and doubles.
  • Assisted the team in a weekend sweep, winning his matches at No. 1 singles over Montana State (6-3, 6-2) and Gonzaga (6-4, 6-4).
  • Earned a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles in the win over Gonzaga.

 

MEN’S TENNIS FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
DYLAN JAEN, BOISE STATE
Hilton Head, South Carolina

  • Went undefeated over the weekend with a 4-0 record across singles and doubles against Idaho State and Eastern Washington.
  • Won both of his No. 6 singles matches in straight sets.
  • Outscored opponents by a combined 24-7 margin in singles play.
  • Did not surrender a game against Eastern Washington, winning 6-0, 6-0 in singles play and 6-0 at No. 3 doubles.

 

WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
COCO ZHAO, UNLV
Senior, Harbin, China/Bin Zhou Sports School

  • Finished the weekend undefeated with a perfect 6-0 record in both singles and doubles.
  • Zhao dominated her No. 3 singles matches, winning all three without dropping a single set.
  • Wrapped up the weekend with an impressive 36-6 margin in points in singles and an 18-3 mark in doubles.

 

WOMEN’S TENNIS FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
KAHO OYAMA, UNLV
Toyonaka, Japan/Sundai Kofu HS

  • Recorded a perfect 4-0 mark on the week between the No. 5 singles and No. 3 doubles positions.
  • Secured a victory against each team she faced, winning all three of her singles matches.
  • Posted straight-set victories against Weber State (6-4, 6-2) and Oral Roberts (6-0, 6-1).
