COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Wyoming’s Allyson Fertig was named the Mountain West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Utah State’s Taliyah Logwood collected the MW Women’s Basketball Freshman of the Week nod.
This is the second MW weekly honor for Fertig and first for Logwood this season.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ALLYSON FERTIG, WYOMING
Senior, Center, Glendo, Wyoming/Douglas HS
- Led the Cowgirls to a 1-1 week with a win over Air Force (62-50) and a loss to Colorado State (61-56).
- Averaged a double-double with 25.5 points and 12 rebounds. Also contributed 3.5 blocks per game, while shooting 59.5 percent from the field and 62.5 percent from the free-throw line.
- At Air Force, tallied 15 points, secured nine rebounds, five block and one steal. Also shot 70 percent from the floor.
- Against Colorado State, recorded 34 points, pulled down 12 boards and blocked two shots.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
TALIYAH LOGWOOD, UTAH STATE
Guard/Forward, Richmond, California/Oakland Technical HS
- Helped the Aggies secure a Conference win over San José State (70-64).
- Logged a career-high 11 rebounds and recorded her first career double-double with a career-best 17 points. Also contributed two steals.
