BOISE, Idaho – Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty was named the 2024 recipient of the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, SPORTyler announced. The award is presented annually to the nation’s most outstanding Division I offensive player who graduated from a Texas high school or plays at a four-year college in Texas. Jeanty is a product of Lone Star HS, located in Frisco, Texas.
Jeanty ran for 2,601 yards during his historic 2024 campaign, the second-highest single-season total in FBS history. He led the FBS in rush attempts (374), all-purpose yards (2,750) and Pro Football Focus rushing grade (96.6). He also recorded College Football Playoff-era records in yards after contact (1,970) and missed tackles forced (164). Of his school-record 29 rushing touchdowns, five were of 70+ yards, matching LaDanian Tomlinson (TCU, 1999) for the most in FBS single-season history.
Jeanty ran for over 100 yards in a program-record 14 games while setting another school record with six 200-yard rushing performances. He led the nation in rushes of 10+ yards (63), 20+ yards (25), 30+ yards (17), 40+ yards (13), 50+ yards (12), 60+ yards (10) and 70+ yards (5).
The captain finished his Boise State career as the school’s all-time leader in rushing yards (4,769), yards per carry (6.4), yards per game (119.2), 200-yard rushing games (8) and 100-yard rushing games (22). He became the program’s first unanimous All-American. He also became the first Bronco to receive the Maxwell Award and Doak Walker Award. The junior repeated as Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year and earned All-MW first team honors.
Jeanty is the 12th player to receive the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award and first from Boise State to do so. He is the fourth running back to win the trophy, joining D’Onta Foreman (Texas, 2016), J.K. Dobbins (Ohio State, 2019) and Ollie Gordon II (Oklahoma State, 2023).
