BOISE, Idaho – Boise State was tabbed No. 8 in the final Associated Press Top 25 Poll and No. 9 in the final US LBM Coaches Poll, both organizations announced. This is the highest the Broncos have finished in either poll since 2011, when they were ranked No. 6 in the Coaches Poll and No. 8 by the AP.
Boise State’s streak of 13-straight weeks in the AP Poll is the longest since 2019, when it was featured in 16-consecutive polls. The highest year-end rankings in program history occurred in 2009, when Boise State secured the No. 4 spot in both polls.
The Broncos went 12-2 this season, winning their second-straight Mountain West title and earning the No. 3 seed in the College Football Playoff. Boise State appeared in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl for the fourth time in program history.
Offensively, the Broncos finished the 2024 campaign ranked fifth in the nation in scoring (37.3 ppg) and 3rd down conversion (49.5%) and eighth in rushing (240.4 ypg) and total offense (466.0 ypg). The defense led the country in sacks (55) while ranking fifth in tackles for loss per game (7.9).
Junior Ashton Jeanty won the Maxwell Award and finished second in Heisman Trophy voting, running for 2,601 yards this season, the second-highest single-season mark in FBS history. He was a unanimous All-American, the first in program history. Joining him on multiple All-America teams was offensive tackle Kage Casey, who anchored a unit that allowed 1.07 sacks per game, 12th-best in the nation. Jeanty and Casey were named All-MW first team, as were offensive guard Ben Dooley and tight end Matt Lauter.
Senior Ahmed Hassanein is a finalist for the Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Award. He was one of three defensive players to earn first team All-MW honors, with EDGE Jayden Virgin-Morgan and linebacker Marco Notarainni each securing the accolade. Virgin-Morgan recorded a team-high 10.0 sacks, tied for 14th-nationally.
Head coach Spencer Danielson earned multiple awards in his first full-time season, including MW Coach of the Year, Grant Teaff Coach of the Year and AFCA Region 5 Coach of the Year.
