COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – UNLV sophomore guard Dedan Thomas Jr. has been named the Mountain West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Air Force newcomer Kyle Marshall was selected the MW Men’s Basketball Freshman of the Week.

This is the second weekly honor for Marshall in 2024-25 and first for Thomas.

MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

DEDAN THOMAS JR., UNLV

Sophomore, Guard, Las Vegas, Nevada/Liberty

  • Led UNLV to a pair of wins over No. 22 Utah State (65-62) and at San Diego State (76-68).
  • Averaged 13.5 points, 5.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds in two starts.
  • Recorded eight points, six assists, four boards and no turnovers against the Aggies. Four of his eight points came in the final minutes of the game, sealing the victory over a nationally ranked opponent.
  • Registered a team-high 19 points and a game-high five assists against the Aztecs. Made 10-of-10 attempts from the charity stripe.

MEN’S BASKETBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

KYLE MARSHALL, AIR FORCE

Guard, Oyster Bay, New York/Millbrook School

  • Averaged 12.5 points, six rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game, while shooting 40 percent (6-for-14) from the floor.
  • Against the Wolf Pack, recorded 12 points, a career-high eight boards, five assists and four steals.
  • Logged 13 points, four rebounds, four assists and a steal against the Bulldogs.
