AROUND THE MOUNTAIN WEST
• Four Mountain West women’s basketball programs are ranked in the Top 100 of the NET: UNLV (50), Colorado State (85), Wyoming (92) and San Diego State (98).
• Mountain West women’s basketball logged a nonconference win percentage of .597, which is its best since the 2009-10 season, when the league went 79-48 (.622).
• The Mountain West’s nonconference record ranks sixth among all DI conferences, following the Big Ten, SEC, Big 12, ACC and the Big East, respectively.
• The second of four nationally broadcasted Mountain West women’s basketball games is set to tip off on Sunday, Jan. 19, at 1 p.m. PT featuring Wyoming at UNLV on the CBS Sports Network.
• The Air Force Falcons are one of 12 DI teams that have three players averaging two or more steals per game this season. Only two MW teams have had that many players in a season prior; Fresno State (2012-13) and San Diego State (2007-08).
• UNLV is one of 19 DI women’s programs that remain undefeated in Conference play after at least five games of league action.
• UNLV is 46-1 (.979) in Conference play over the last three seasons (since 2022-23), the third-best record by any DI team in that span behind South Dakota (44-0) and South Carolina (42-0).
• New Mexico’s Vianè Cumber leads DI women’s basketball in free-throw percentage (98.0).
• Fresno State’s Mia Jacobs is tied for second in the nation for double-doubles posted this season (11).
• Mia Jacobs is one of three DI women’s basketball players that ranks in the top two of their conference in points (18.7), rebounds (9.8) and steals per game (2.41) this season. If she maintains that throughout the season, she would become one of two MW players to do so, joining UNLV’s Linda Frohlich (1999-00).
• Jacobs became the second MW player to record 30-point double-doubles in consecutive games, joining Colorado State’s McKenna Hofschild (2023-24); the last DI player to do this was Iowa’s Caitlin Clark.
• Wyoming’s Allyson Fertig has recorded at least a 50.0 field-goal percentage and five rebounds in 12 different games this season. That is the third most among all DI players, behind LSU’s Aneesah Morrow (13) and Vanderbilt’s Khamil Pierre (13).
• Colorado State’s Emma Ronsiek was named an Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Week by the USBWA on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
• Colorado State’s Emma Ronsiek is one of 20 student-athletes named to the Katrina McClain Power Forward of the Year watch list.
• Wyoming’s Allyson Fertig is one of 20 student-athletes named to the Lisa Leslie Center of the Year watch list.
• Colorado State’s Emma Ronsiek and Wyoming’s Allyson Fertig represent the Mountain West on the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year watch list.
• Colorado State’s Emma Ronsiek, Utah State’s Cheyenne Stubbs and Wyoming’s Allyson Fertig represent the Mountain West on the World Exposure Top-50 Mid-Major women’s basketball players to watch in 2024-25.
• UNLV head coach Lindy La Rocque has been named to the Kathy Delaney-Smith Coach of the Year Award watch list.
• Three-time defending regular-season and Conference tournament champion UNLV looks to extend its reign for a fourth consecutive year. The three consecutive regular-season and tournament titles are a first in Conference history.
