COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State senior Julia Matney has been tabbed the Mountain West Swimmer of the Week. San Diego State senior Valentina Lopez Arevalo was selected as the MW Diver of the Week. Air Force’s Chloe Perkins collected the MW Freshman of the Week nod.
SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
JULIA MATNEY, FRESNO STATE
Senior, Centennial, Colorado/Centennial HS
- Placed first in all events in which she participated.
- Placed first in the 200-yard butterfly with a personal best time of 2:02.41.
- Placed first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.18.
- Swam a leg of the victorious 400-yard medley relay that turned in a time of 3:49.61, setting a Fresno State Aquatic Center record.
- Also swam legs of the 200-yard medley and the 400-yard free relays that both placed first.
DIVER OF THE WEEK

Senior, Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico/Colegio de Bachilleres del Estado de Jalisco
- Won all three titles at the Lancer Diving Invitational.
- Helped the Aztecs finish first in the women’s team standings with a combined 184.00 points.
- In the 1-meter springboard, recorded a score of 289.15, surpassing the NCAA Diving Zone standard.
- In the 3-meter springboard, logged a score of 302.25, surpassing the NCAA Diving Zone standard.
- In the Platform dive, logged a score of 287.85, surpassing the NCAA Diving Zone standard.

- Helped the Falcons to a 3-0 record on the week.
- Swept the women’s diving competition while recording two personal bests.
- In the 1-meter springboard, recorded a score of 256.95.
- In the 3-meter springboard, logged a score of 291.50, surpassing the NCAA Diving Zone standard.
