COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado State’s Emma Ronsiek was tabbed the Mountain West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while rookie teammate Brooke Carlson collected the MW Women’s Basketball Freshman of the Week nod.

This is the third MW weekly honor for Ronsiek and second for Carlson this season.

 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

EMMA RONSIEK, COLORADO STATE

Graduate, Forward, Sioux Falls, South Dakota/Creighton

  • Led the Rams to a 2-0 week with wins over San Diego State (67-56) and San José State (87-51) helping CSU improve to 3-0 in Conference play.
  • Averaged 22 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and one steal per game. Shot 58.6 percent from the floor, 53.3 percent from beyond the arc and was perfect from the free-throw line.
  • Against the Aztecs, tallied 24 points, seven rebounds and two assists.
  • Against Spartans, registered 20 points, six rebounds, two steals and one assist.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

BROOKE CARLSON, COLORADO STATE

Guard, Batavia, Illinois/Batavia HS

  • Was a key contributor for the Green and Gold, posting a 2-0 week with wins over San Diego State (67-56) and San José State (87-51).
  • Averaged 10 points, 6.5 assists, one rebound and one steal per game.
  • Against the Aztecs, notched seven points, five assists and one rebound.
  • Against the Spartans, logged 13 points, a career-high eight assists, two steals and one rebound.
