SAN DIEGO – Holding steady in the Associated Press and moving up one spot in the Coaches Poll, the San Diego State men’s basketball program slots in at No. 23 in both national polls this week. SDSU totaled 250 points in the AP Poll and 110 points in the Coaches Poll, and remains the only Mountain West program to be ranked in either poll.

With its appearance in this week’s AP Poll, San Diego State is ranked for the 113th week since the start of the 2010-11 season, more than any other program in the state of California in that time frame.

San Diego State is ranked No. 23 for the fourth time in school history, and second time in as many weeks. Except for No. 12, SDSU has appeared in every position in the poll between No. 4 and No. 25.

Today’s poll ranking, released on December 16, marks the seventh time SDSU has appeared in the AP Top 25 on this date.

San Diego State puts its No. 23 ranking on the line on Saturday, December 21, against the California Golden Bears at SAP Center in San Jose, Calif. at the San Jose Tip-Off. The game, the back half of a doubleheader, is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. PT and the game will be carried on ACC Network.
