CHICAGO, Ill. (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV Lady Rebels collected an 80-61 victory over DePaul on Sunday afternoon at Wintrust Arena. The Scarlet & Gray (7-3) evened the overall series 2-2 with the Blue Demons (4-8).

Aaliyah Alexander put up a season-high 25 points by shooting 8-for-10 from the field, did not miss a three-pointer (3-for-3) and was 6-for-10 at the free throw line. Alexander’s 25 points today have been the most by a Lady Rebel in a game this season. Kiara Jackson was the second-leading scorer with 17 points, while Amarachi Kimpson brought down a career-high eight rebounds to lead the squad.

The Blue Demons were led by Jorie Allen’s 21 points and Taylor Johnson-Matthews’ 13 points. DePaul’s leading rebounder was Meg Newman with 10 rebounds.

SHOOTING PERCENTAGE: The Lady Rebels shot 51.7% (31 of 60) from the field for the game and 40.0% (6 of 15) from behind the arc. UNLV shot 60.6% (20 of 33) from the field in the first half and 40.7% (11 of 27) in the second, while they converted 28.6% (2 of 7) from the three-point line in the first and 50.0% (4 of 8) in the second half.

The Blue Demons shot 38.1% (24 of 63) from the field for the game and 19.0% (4 of 21) on three-pointers. DePaul shot 34.4% (11 of 32) from the field in the first half and 41.9% (13 of 31) in the second half, while they made 3 of 13 (23.1%) three-pointers in the first half and 1 of 8 (12.5%) in the second.

OTHER NOTES:

  • Alyssa Brown led the Lady Rebels in assists with four and had one blocked shot.
  • Erica Collins also had a blocked shot against DePaul.
  • Meadow Roland came off the bench and scored nine points by shooting 4-for-5 and was a perfect 1-for-1 at the three-point line.
  • Jackson’s 17 points tonight brings her career total points to 986. She is only 16 points away from joining the 1K club at UNLV.
  • The Lady Rebels out-rebounded the Blue Demons 39-36.
  • UNLV won the paint with 44 points compared to DePaul’s 32 points.
  • The Lady Rebels forced 16 Blue Demon turnovers.
  • UNLV’s biggest lead of the game was 24 points in the second quarter (46-22).
