SAN DIEGO – Coming off a week where it defeated two opponents by an average of 19.5 points, the San Diego State men’s basketball program moved up one spot in the Associated Press’ rankings, slotting in at No. 23, and makes its first appearance in the USA Today Coaches Poll at No. 24. The Aztecs totaled 276 points in the AP Poll and 105 points in the Coaches Poll. San Diego State is the only Mountain West program to be ranked in either poll.
With its appearance in this week’s AP Poll, San Diego State is ranked for the 112th week since the start of the 2010-11 season, more than any other program in the state of California in that time frame.
San Diego State is ranked No. 23 for the third time in school history. With the exception of No. 12, SDSU has appeared in every position in the poll between No. 4 and No. 25.
Today’s poll ranking, released on December 8, marks the eighth time SDSU has appeared in the AP Top 25 on this date.

San Diego State puts its No. 23 ranking on the line on Wednesday, December 11, against the California Baptist Lancers at Steve Fisher Court at Viejas Arena in San Diego. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. PT and the game will be carried on YurView (Channel) and streamed on the Mountain West Network.
