BOISE, Idaho – For the first time in its history, the Mountain West will hold its Esports Championships in conjunction with the Old Trapper Mountain West Football Championship in Boise, Idaho.

On Friday, Dec. 6, the EA Sports College Football 25 Mountain West championship will take place at 4:30 p.m. MT. Fans can watch the match live and in-person at the Ford Fan Fest area outside Albertsons Stadium. Boise State’s Matthew Wallace will face San José State’s Tanner Yue for the MW title. The winner will be honored during the Old Trapper Mountain West Football Championship game that night.

The action continues on Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Boise State Esports Arena with championship matches in Rocket League and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. In Rocket League, Boise State will face off with Washington State for the MW title starting at noon MT. Hawai‘i, Nevada and San José State are all still alive to play in the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate championship which will start at 1:30 p.m. MT.

For fans who want to watch online, all of the matches will stream live on the Mountain West Twitch channel.

The Mountain West began sponsoring Esports in 2019 with the Mountain West Esports Showdown between Boise State and UNLV. Since the inaugural match, the Mountain West has hosted several Esports events in Las Vegas in tandem with the Mountain West Basketball Championships.
