BOISE, Idaho – Boise State junior Ashton Jeanty earned Walter Camp Offensive Player of the Week, the organization announced. He is the third Bronco to earn this honor, joining Ian Johnson (Sept. 10, 2006) and Kellen Moore (Sept. 21, 2008). Jeanty ran for 226 yards and one touchdown on a career-high 37 attempts, leading Boise State to a 34-18 win over Oregon State.
Jeanty gained 183 yards after contact and forced 12 missed tackles against the Beavers, pushing his season totals to 1,695 yards after contact and 130 missed tackles forced, both FBS records. He eclipsed 100 yards in both halves for the fifth time this season, extending his season total of 100-yard halves to 16. Seven of his rushes went for 10+ yards, including a 60-yard run.
The HEI2MAN candidate extended his streak of 125-yard rushing games to 12, the longest in the FBS since at least 1996. He set the Boise State single-season record for all-purpose yards (2,390) and tied the record for rushing touchdowns (28). He also set the Mountain West single-season rushing record (2,288), a total that is fifth-most in FBS history.
The Lone Star (Texas) HS product is a finalist for the Walter Camp Award, as well as the Doak Walker Award and Maxwell Award. He was a unanimous midseason all-America selection and earned Doak Walker National Running Back of the Week four times.
No. 11/10/10 Boise State will host No. 22/19/19 UNLV in the 2024 Old Trapper Mountain West Championship at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6. The game will be televised on FOX. The network’s Big Noon Kickoff crew will broadcast a pregame show on The Blue, beginning at 5 p.m.
