COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Wyoming’s Allyson Fertig was named the Mountain West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while San Diego State’s Nat Martinez was tabbed the MW Freshman of the Week for the second consecutive week.

ALLYSON FERTIG, WYOMING
Senior, Center, Glendo, Wyoming/Douglas HS
- Led the Cowgirls to a 2-1 record at the San Juan Shootout with wins over Drake (71-57) and Virginia (71-66) and a loss to Norfolk State (56-47).
- Averaged 19.7 points, 12.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.
- Against the Bulldogs, logged 18 points, nine rebounds, two assists and two blocks.
- Against the Spartans, recorded a double-double with 19 points and career-high-tying 21 rebounds, while also contributing a steal and an assist.
- Against the Cavaliers, tallied 22 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Shot 57 percent from the field and 75 percent from the free-throw line.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
NAT MARTINEZ, SAN DIEGO STATE
Guard, San Leandro, California/Piedmont HS
- Guided the Aztecs to a 2-1 week with wins over Wisconsin (73-67) and VCU (55-46) before falling to Providence (55-54) in the Cancun Challenge where Martinez was named to the all-tournament team.
- Averaged 10.3 points per game, totaling 31 points for the Aztecs and shot 50 percent from the floor.
- Against the Badgers, logged a career-high 22 points, one rebound and one assist. Went 5-for-8 from the field, 4-for-6 from 3-point range and 8-of-10 from the charity stripe.
- Against the Rams, tallied six points, two rebounds and one assist.
- Against the Friars, registered an additional three points, one rebound, one assist and one steal.
