LOGAN, Utah – Utah State quarterback Bryson Barnes was named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in USU’s 41-20 Mountain West home win against San Diego State on Saturday. It is Barnes’ second-career conference honor as he was named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week last year at Utah.
Barnes was also named to the Davey O’Brien Award’s Great 8 for Week 13 and was one of eight quarterbacks named a Manning Award Star of the Week, marking the first time he has ever received either of those honors.
Offensive Player of the Week
Bryson Barnes, Quarterback (6-2, 205, Jr., Milford, Utah)
- Accounted for four touchdowns and had 332 yards of total offense as he came off the bench in the second quarter.
- Set a single-game school record for rushing yards by a quarterback as he gained a career-high 193 yards on 15 carries and one touchdown. It was Barnes’ first career 100-yard rushing game.
- Those 193 rushing yards are the second-most by a Mountain West quarterback this year and the fifth-most by a quarterback at the FBS level.
- Was 13-of-15 passing for 139 yards and a season-high three touchdowns.
- Helped Utah State amass a season-high 322 rushing yards as a team.
- Barnes entered the game midway through the second quarter with Utah State trailing 10-0 and led USU to 41 unanswered points.

Utah State concludes its 2024 season this weekend at Colorado State on Friday, Nov. 29, at 1:30 p.m. (MT). The game will be televised on Fox Sports 1.
