COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Utah State junior quarterback Bryson Barnes has been named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week, while Air Force senior inside linebacker Osaro Aihie is the MW Defensive Player of the Week. Boise State junior punter James Ferguson-Reynolds was named the MW Special Teams Player of the Week and Fresno State running back Bryson Donelson was tabbed the MW Freshman of the Week.

The weekly awards are the second of Ferguson-Reynolds’s career and the first each for Barnes, Aihie and Donelson.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
BRYSON BARNES, UTAH STATE
Junior, Quarterback, Milford, Utah/Milford HS/Utah

  • Came off the bench midway through the second quarter to lead Utah State to a come-from-behind 41-20 win over San Diego State. Helped the Aggies score 41 straight points after trailing 13-0 with 3:16 to play in the first half.
  • Completed 13-of-15 passes (86.7 percent) for 139 yards and a season-high three touchdowns and rushed 15 times for a career-best 193 yards and another score, racking up 332 yards of total offense and four TDs.
  • His rushing total was a school record for a quarterback.
  • Scored Utah State’s first points on a 19-yard run in the second quarter and tied his career-long rush of 63 yards in the fourth quarter.
  • Turned in a passing efficiency of 230.5.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
OSARO AIHIE, AIR FORCE
Senior, Inside Linebacker, San Leandro, Calif./San Leandro HS

  • Made a career-best seven tackles, including a career-high four solo stops, in Air Force’s 22-19 win at Nevada.
  • Grabbed his first career interception, returning it 39 yards.
  • His interception came with the Falcons leading 15-12 with less than five minutes left in the game. Air Force scored on the ensuing drive to make it a two-score game with 1:11 to play.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JAMES FERGUSON-REYNOLDS, BOISE STATE
Junior, Punter, Geelong, Australia

  • Punted five times for 240 yards, averaging 48.0 yards per punt, in No. 12 Boise’s State’s 17-13 win at Wyoming.
  • Had a long of 62 yards.
  • Placed four punts inside the 20-yard line and two inside the 10.
  • Wyoming’s only return was for one yard, giving him a net of 47.8 yards per punt.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
BRYSON DONELSON, FRESNO STATE
Freshman, Running Back, Visalia, Calif./Central Valley Christian

  • Had 12 carries for a game- and career-high 140 yards and a touchdown to lead Fresno State past Colorado State, 28-22, to clinch bowl eligibility for the Bulldogs.
  • Became Fresno State’s first true freshman to rush for at least 100 yards since 2017.
  • Had three rushing plays of 20 yards or more, all in the first half. Averaged 11.7 yards per carry.
  • Turned in a long run of 43 yards, the longest of his career.
  • Scored on a 16-yard run in the first quarter.
