• Mountain West teams have a combined winning percentage of .644 so far, the highest among any non-A4 conference this season.
• Since the start of the 2023 calendar year, UNLV has 12 wins of 35+ points, tied for seventh-most by any DI team during that span.
• Boise State has started 4-0 in consecutive season for the first time since 1973-74 and 1974-75.
• San Diego State has started a season with four straight wins for the first time since going 5-0 to start 1992-93. That season ended with an NCAA tournament appearance for the Aztecs.
• Fresno State’s Mia Jacobs is the second MW player to record 90+ points, 40+ rebounds and 15+ steals through her first five games of a season, joining UNLV’s Linda Frohlich in 1999-00.
• Last week, Boise State’s Abby Muse became the third MW player to record 7+ blocks in back-to-back games, joining Fresno State’s Bego Faz Davalos (twice) and San Diego State’s Paris Johnson (March 2009). Muse has had at least five swats in nine games since last season, the most among active DI players.
• Colorado State’s Emma Ronsiek is one of 20 student-athletes named to the Katrina McClain Power Forward of the Year watch list.
• Wyoming’s Allyson Fertig is one of 20 student-athletes named to the Lisa Leslie Center of the Year watch list.
• Colorado State’s Emma Ronsiek and Wyoming’s Allyson Fertig represent the Mountain West on the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year watch list.
• Colorado State’s Emma Ronsiek, Utah State’s Cheyenne Stubbs and Wyoming’s Allyson Fertig represent the Mountain West on the World Exposure Top-50 Mid-Major women’s basketball players to watch in 2024-25.
• UNLV head coach Lindy La Rocque has been named to the Kathy Delaney-Smith Coach of the Year Award
• UNLV (2-0) continues to receive votes in the USA Today coaches poll for the second week in a row.
• Three-time defending regular-season and Conference tournament champion UNLV looks to extend its reign for a fourth consecutive year. The three consecutive regular-season and tournament titles are a first in Conference history.
• Her Hoop Stats Preseason Bracketology revealed the MW to have the potential to be a two-bid league with UNLV securing a 12 seed while Colorado State is predicted to be in the play-in round for the shot at a 12 seed slot.
