COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – New Mexico sophomore quarterback Devon Dampier has been named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week, while Utah State senior safety Jordan Vincent is the MW Defensive Player of the Week. UNLV freshman placekicker Caden Chittenden was named the MW Special Teams Player of the Week and Colorado State running back Justin Marshall was tabbed the MW Freshman of the Week.

The weekly awards are the sixth of Chittenden’s career, second for Dampier and first each for Vincent and Marshall.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
DEVON DAMPIER, NEW MEXICO
Sophomore, Quarterback, Phoenix, Ariz./Saguaro HS

  • Rushed 28 times for 193 yards and three touchdowns and completed 11 passes for 174 yards and a TD to lead New Mexico to a 38-35 win over No. 18 Washington State.
  • His 1-yard TD run with 21 seconds left in the game lifted the Lobos to their first win over a ranked opponent in 21 years and their first over a nonconference ranked opponent in 84 years.
  • Led a drive of 86 yards to give UNM a 31-28 lead with 4:40 to go in the fourth quarter and then a 75-yard drive to win it.
  • Became the first New Mexico quarterback to break the 1,000-yard rushing mark in a season.
  • Set UNM season quarterback records for consecutive 100-yard rushing games (three), rushing touchdowns (13) and rushing yards (1,065).

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JORDAN VINCENT, UTAH STATE
Senior, Safety, Chicago, Ill./Stevenson HS/New Mexico State

  • Had five tackles and a career-high two interceptions in Utah State’s 55-10 win over Hawai‘i.
  • Recorded his first interception late in the first quarter, returning it 14 yards to set up an Aggie touchdown.
  • Picked off his second pass of the day just before halftime.
  • Helped Utah State hold Hawai‘i to just 10 points, 309 yards of total offense and just 47 rushing yards, all season lows for an Aggie opponent.
  • Was part of a defense that turned in a season-high five interceptions, its most in a game since 1971.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
CADEN CHITTENDEN, UNLV
Freshman, Placekicker, Las Vegas, Nev./Faith Lutheran HS

  • Scored 11 points in UNLV’s 41-20 win over San Diego State, connecting on a pair of field goals and five extra points.
  • Kicked off eight times with six touchbacks.
  • Tied his career high with a 46-yard field goal in the third quarter and added a 21-yarder in the fourth.
  • Matched the MW freshman record with his 22nd field goal of the season.
  • Shares the FBS lead in field goals and field goals per game (2.2) and is the top-scoring kicker with 109 points.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
JUSTIN MARSHALL, COLORADO STATE
Redshirt Freshman, Running Back, Merrillville, Ind./Merrillville HS

  • Rushed 16 times for 104 yards, both game highs, and caught one pass for 12 yards as Colorado State beat Wyoming 24-10 to claim the Bronze Boot for the first time since 2020 and remain perfect in MW play at 5-0.
  • Averaged 6.5 yards per rush and posted three runs of 15 yards or more, including a long of 38 on the second offensive play of the game that set up CSU’s opening touchdown.
  • Paced the Rams to a season-high 248 yards on the ground.
  • Turned in his second 100-yard game of the season.
