LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV football moved up seven spots and returned to the national rankings on Sunday after upping its record to 8-2 overall with a 41-20 home win over San Diego State.
The Rebels are now No. 23 in both polls, which reflects their highest ranking ever by the Associated Press and ties their highest in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll. UNLV made its first-ever appearance in the Coaches Poll on Sept. 15, reaching as high as No. 23 two weeks later. The Rebels received their first-ever ranking by the AP on Sept. 29, sitting at No. 25.
UNLV closes out its regular-season road schedule on Friday with a trip to San Jose State, starting at 7 p.m. on FS1. The Rebels will then celebrate Senior Day in the annual Battle for the Fremont Cannon vs. UNR on Nov. 30.
