BOISE, Idaho – For the fourth time this season, Boise State junior Ashton Jeanty has been named the Doak Walker National Running Back of the Week.
The HEI2MAN candidate ran for 209 yards and three touchdowns on a career-high 34 carries, leading Boise State to a 28-21 win over Nevada. This was his third 200-yard, three-touchdown effort of the season, tying the third-highest single-season mark in the FBS since 1996. Wisconsin running backs Ron Dayne (1996) and Jonathan Taylor (2018) hold the record with four each.
The 200-yard performance was the sixth of Jeanty’s career, extending his school record and tying him with Donnel Pumphrey (San Diego State, 2013-16) for third in Mountain West history. He has tallied over 125 yards in all nine games this season, becoming the first player since Iowa State’s Troy Davis (1996) to run for 125+ in his first nine games of a season. Davis eclipsed that mark in his first 11 games.
Jeanty’s four honors are the most of any player this season. Last season, Ollie Gordon II (Oklahoma State) earned three weekly nods before winning the Doak Walker Award. Yesterday, he was named MW Offensive Player of the Week for the sixth time this season. This morning, he was tabbed one of 16 semifinalists for the Maxwell Award.
No. 12 Boise State (8-1, 5-0 MW) will travel to San José State (6-3, 3-2 MW) for a MW contest on Nov. 16. The Broncos and Spartans will kick off at 5 p.m. MT with the game airing on CBS Sports Network.

Led by Spencer Danielson in his first full season, Boise State looks to become the first Mountain West program to win back-to-back championships since San Diego State did so in 2015-16. Achieving such a feat will put Boise State in the discussion for the new, expanded, 12-team College Football Playoff format beginning this fall. Last year, Danielson became the first coach in college football history to win a conference championship with an interim title.
