BOISE, Idaho – Boise State remained in the College Football Rankings, checking in at No. 13 in the second edition of the 2024 season. The Broncos are the highest-ranked Group of 5 team once again, with No. 24 Army West Point and No. 25 Tulane being the other G5 selections.
The Boise State offense ranks second in the nation in rushing (268.6 ypg), second in 4th down conversion percentage (.846), third in scoring (43.8 ppg), fourth in total offense (496.2 ypg) and fifth in 3rd down conversion percentage (51.3). Defensively, the Broncos are second in the FBS in sacks per game (4.44) and fourth in tackles for loss per game (8.3). The Broncos were also ranked No. 13 in the Associated Press Top 25 and US LBM Coaches Poll earlier this week.
This will be the first year of the expanded College Football Playoff, with 12 teams garnering inclusion. The 12 teams will be the five highest-ranked conference champions followed by the next seven highest-ranked teams. The four highest-ranked conference champions will receive a first-round bye.
Boise State (8-1, 5-0 MW) will travel to San José State (6-3, 3-2 MW) for a MW contest on Nov. 16. The Broncos and Spartans will kick off at 5 p.m. MT with the game airing on CBS Sports Network.

Led by Spencer Danielson in his first full season, Boise State looks to become the first Mountain West program to win back-to-back championships since San Diego State did so in 2015-16. Achieving such a feat will put Boise State in the discussion for the new, expanded, 12-team College Football Playoff format beginning this fall. Last year, Danielson became the first coach in college football history to win a conference championship with an interim title.
