COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Three Mountain West men’s cross country teams and one women’s cross country team appeared in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Poll (USTFCCCA), released on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
The New Mexico men rose to their highest ranking of the year, climbing to No. 6 after last week’s fourth-place finish at Wisconsin’s Pre-Championship event. The Utah State men, who joined the rankings at No. 30 on Oct. 8, jumped 11 spots to No. 19. while the Wyoming men appeared in this week’s ranking for the first time this season, coming in at No. 20.
On the women’s side, the New Mexico women continued their rise in the poll, climbing into the top 10 at No. 8 heading into next’s week’s Mountain West Cross Country Championships, which are set for Friday, November 1 and will be hosted by Air Force at the Eisenhower Golf Course in Colorado Springs.
