COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Utah State has swept this week’s Mountain West Cross Country awards with Sammi Lee being named the Women’s Athlete of the Week, Ava Trimble earning Women’s Freshman of the Week and Joshua Armstrong picking up both the Men’s Athlete and Freshman of the Week honors.

WOMEN’S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

SAMMI LEE, UTAH STATE

Senior, Pleasant View, Utah/Weber HS

  • Took second in the 5k race at the Steve T. Reeder Memorial Invitational with a time of 18:31.47, a career-best finish.
  • Top finisher at the event for the Aggies.
  • Led Utah State to a first-place team finish.

WOMEN’S FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

AVA TRIMBLE, UTAH STATE

Orem, Utah/Orem HS

  • Finished in fourth place (18:43.73) in the 5k at the Steve T. Reeder Memorial Invitational, the best finish of her first collegiate season.
  • Third-highest finisher for Utah State, helping the Aggies win the event as a team.

MEN’S ATHLETE & FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

JOSHUA ARMSTRONG, UTAH STATE

La Verkin, Utah/Hurricane HS

  • Took 3rd overall in the 7k at the Steve T. Reeder Memorial Invitational with a time of 21:29.56, marking a career-best finish.
  • Top finisher for the Aggie men, leading Utah State to a team win.
