COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – New Mexico’s Pamela Kosgei has been named the Mountain West Women’s Cross Country Athlete and Freshman of the Week and Wyoming’s Jacob White was selected as the MW Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week. Joshua McKee of Utah State was tabbed the MW Freshman of the Week.

WOMEN’S ATHLETE & FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

PAMELA KOSGEI, NEW MEXICO

Elgeyo-Marakwet County, Kenya/St. Agatha Mokpo Girls School

  • Won the 6k race at the Cowboy Jamboree with a time of 19:50.0, finishing 43.5 seconds ahead of the runner-up.
  • 10th-fastest 6k time ran by a woman on Oklahoma State’s Greiner Cross Country Course and fastest there since the 2022 NCAA Championships.
  • Led No. 21 New Mexico to a win over No. 16 Oklahoma State.

MEN’S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

JACOB WHITE, WYOMING

Junior, Littleton, Colorado/Dakota Ridge HS

  • Set a program record in the 8k race at Notre Dame’s Joe Piane Invitational, finishing ninth overall.
  • Surpassed his personal best in the race by 48 seconds and now owns the program marks for the 8k and the 10k.
  • Helped the Cowboys to a fourth-place finish over No. 30 Michigan State, while beating runners from No. 3 Northern Arizona, No. 9 Notre Dame, No. 29 Cal Baptist and Michigan State.

MEN’S FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

JOSHUA MCKEE, UTAH STATE

Marshfield, Wisconsin/Marshfield HS

  • Finished 14th overall in the 8k at the Paul Short Run with a time of 23:51.2, tying a career-best mark.
  • Was the second-fastest freshman in the field and helped the Aggies to a third-place finish as a team.
