Boise State once again jumped four spots in the Associated Press Top 25 poll Sunday – up to No. 17 – and entered the US LBM Coaches Poll at No. 22 following a dominant 62-30 Mountain West win over Utah State.

The No. 17 slot is the highest the Broncos have been ranked by the AP since a No. 14 ranking on Oct. 13, 2019. It marks the first time since the 2020 season that Boise State has been ranked in both polls.

Boise State has the nation’s best scoring offense (50.6 ppg) and third-ranked total offense (537.6 ypg) to compile a 4-1 (1-0 MW) record this season. The only demerit on the slate so far was a 37-34 decision at then-No. 7/6 Oregon as the Ducks hit a field goal as time expired to escape the Bronco threat.

Boise State already holds the distinction of the nation’s best record while ranked in the AP Top 25 poll. Following last night’s win, the Blue and Orange are now 115-21 (.846) while ranked by the AP, the best record of any team over the past 40 years.

The Broncos received 463 points in this week’s AP poll, an increase of 210 votes from last week’s No. 25 ranking. In the US LBM Coaches Poll, Boise State received 213 votes, to enter that poll for the first time this season. Last weekend the Blue and Orange received 103 points to finish one spot outside the top 25.

Another sold out crowd filled Albertsons Stadium to watch the Broncos stampede in their conference opener. The crowd of 37,210 marked the fifth-largest crowd in school history and gave a three-game average of 37,298, the first time in school history Boise State has averaged over 37,000 fans over three consecutive home games in a single season.

Now the No. 17/22 Broncos head to Hawai’i for a late-night battle with the Warriors. Kickoff is set for 9 p.m. MT/5 p.m. HT on CBS Sports Network.
