COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty and UNLV linebacker Jackson Woodard have combined for six national player of the week awards this week.

Jeanty, who was named the Reese’s Senior Bowl Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, added two more honors Wednesday. The junior, who ran for 267 yards and six touchdowns in a 56-45 win at Georgia Southern in Week 1, was named the Doak Walker Award National Player of the Week and the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose National Player of the Week. Jeanty’s rushing totals were both program records, while his six rushing TDs matched the MW record.

Woodard collection a trio of honors Wednesday. The senior was named the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week in addition to earning Bronko Nagurski Trophy Player of the Week and Scooter’s Coffee Frisco Bowl Defensive Player of the Week accolades. Woodard had 11 tackles and a career-best three sacks in UNLV’s 27-7 win at Houston in Week 1, marking the Rebels’ first win over a Big 12 program since 2008.

Of the national weekly awards presented by members of the National College Football Awards Association, which includes the Walter Camp, Doak Walker and Bronko Nagurski awards, the Mountain West was the only conference outside of the Autonomous 4 to earn an award in Week 1. Only the ACC (five) and Big Ten (four) collected more than the MW (three) this week.
