COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) announced its annual academic awards today, with 44 Mountain West student-athletes being named WCGA Scholastic All-Americans. Additionally, San José State was recognized for having the third-highest team grade-point average in the nation.
SJSU posted a team GPA of 3.8295 and saw a program-record 16 gymnasts earn WCGA Scholastic All-America honors. The Spartans jumped from 60th nationally in 2023.
Boise State was 16th nationally this year with a 3.7105 team GPA and had 15 gymnasts earn individual honors. Utah State was 47th nationally with a 3.5975 team GPA and had 13 gymnasts named WCGA Scholastic All-Americans.
Ten MW gymnasts posted 4.0 GPAs – four from Boise State and three each from San José State and Utah State.
To be named WCGA Scholastic All-Americans, student-athletes must own a 3.5 overall GPA or a 3.5 GPA for 2023-24, as submitted and documented by their institutions.
