COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Ten Mountain West football players are among the 90 student-athletes on the 2024 Comeback Player of the Year Award Watch List, as announced today by the Associated Press and College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA).

Boise State wide receiver Latrell Caples, Fresno State defensive back Cam Lockridge and offensive lineman Jacob Spomer, Nevada defensive back Keyshawn Cobb and running back Patrick Garwo III, New Mexico wide receiver Luke Wysong, San José State wide receiver Justin Lockhart, Utah State defensive end Lawrence Falatea and quarterback Spencer Petras and Wyoming running back Dawaiian McNeely represent the Mountain West on the initial watch list.

Since 2018, the award has recognized college football student-athletes for overcoming injury, illness, or other circumstances. At the conclusion of each season, in a vote by a panel of college football writers, editors, and sports information directors, three college football student-athletes are honored as Comeback Player of the Year Award winners at the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl.
