LOGAN, Utah – Utah State head men’s basketball coach Jerrod Calhoun announced on Monday that the team will participate in a foreign tour in Italy and Croatia from August 9-19. The tour will include stops in Rome and Florence, Italy, and Split and Dubrovnik, Croatia, and will pit the Aggies against teams from across Europe.

“This trip is a great opportunity for our team, both on and off the court,” Calhoun said. “It’s a chance for us to spend some quality time together and really to speed up the bonding process. We’re looking forward to being able to take this trip as a team and to get a jump start on the season.”

The tour will feature three games against international competition. USU will first face Stella Azzurra of Rome’s Serie B on Monday, Aug. 12, in Rome. On Friday, Aug. 16, in Split, the Aggies will face KK Split of the Croatian League. The final game of the tour will be against KK Podgorica of Montenegro’s ABA League. All Utah State players will be eligible to compete, including each of the team’s nine incoming newcomers.

The tour is organized by Global Sports & Events, an organization which specializes in international team tours and college basketball multi-team event tournaments.
