BOISE, Idaho – Boise State former gymnast Courtney Blackson has been selected to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America At-Large Third Team, the organization announced Tuesday.

Blackson was one of 50 individuals recognized and was the only Mountain West athlete to make the at-large list.

She marks the first Bronco gymnast in school history to earn the honor.

To be eligible for CSC academic honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore and have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.50. Gymnastics student-athletes need to rank in the top-75 in an event within their division, according to Road to Nationals. Academic All-America voting is then conducted by members of the CSC organization.

Blackson graduated with a 3.84 GPA in health studies while earning her second CSC Academic All-District honors. She also secured her second-career All-America honor after taking sixth on bars at the NCAA Championships.

The former Bronco earned three All-MW team honors, taking home first team recognitions on bars and floor and second team on vault. She also accumulated seven MW Specialist of the Week honors throughout her senior season.

Blackson etched her name all over the record book as she tied the program record for highest score on floor twice (9.950), became the first gymnast in program history to win multiple NCAA Regional events outright and set the program record for highest bars score at the NCAA Championships (9.925).
