COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – New Mexico senior Reed Spenrath has been named the Mountain West Baseball Player of the Week, while teammate Dayne Pengelly was selected the MW Baseball Pitcher of the Week. San Diego State’s Jake Jackson was named the MW Baseball Freshman of the Week.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

REED SPENRATH, NEW MEXICO

Senior, Infielder, El Campo, Texas/TCU

  • Led New Mexico to a series victory over Nevada.
  • Batted .385 in three starts with five hits, 10 RBIs and four runs scored.
  • Hit a pair of grand slams in the first game of the series against the Wolf Pack.
  • Posted a 1.077 slugging percentage and registered multi-hit games in all three outings.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

DAYNE PENGELLY, NEW MEXICO

Junior, Rio Rancho, New Mexico/Pima CC

  • Earned the series-opening win against Nevada on Friday night.
  • Tossed seven shutout innings, limiting the Wolf Pack to four hits and three walks.
  • Struck out a career-high 12 batters.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

JAKE JACKSON, SAN DIEGO STATE

Outfielder, San Diego, California/Madison HS

  • Made three starts in the outfield for San Diego State.
  • Batted .273 in 11 plate appearances with three hits and six RBIs.
  • Posted a .636 slugging percentage and one multi-hit performance.
