LAS VEGAS – Sofia Torres charged up the leaderboard on moving day at the NCAA Las Vegas Regional Tuesday. The senior matched the program record for the lowest round in an NCAA Tournament with a 4-under 68.

Her day started fast with back-to-back birdies before a bogey on the third hole. She made the turn at 3-under with two more birdies on the fifth and ninth hole.

The birdie on nine started a streak of three straight from holes 9-11 to reach 5-under.

Torres was steady the rest of the round closing it with six pars and one bogey to turn in the 68.

She enters tomorrow’s final round tied for 10th at 2-under and in contention to advance as an individual if the team were not to finish in the top 5.

The Rams improved by two strokes on their team score with an 8-over 296. CSU is in a tie for ninth and 16 strokes back of Baylor for fifth place entering the final round.
