LAS VEGAS – It had been a while since Colorado State women’s golf had participated in the NCAA Regional, 14 years to be exact. The Rams ended that streak on Monday when they started round one of the Las Vegas Regional at Spanish Trail Country Club. CSU shot a 10-over 298 in the opening 18. That places the team in eighth place, six strokes back of the coveted top-5 finish.

Andrea Bergsdottir was her steady self, leading the Rams with a 1-over 73. Her day ended on a positive note almost holing out from the greenside bunker leading to a tap-in birdie. She is tied for 18th on the individual leaderboard.

The duo of Kara Kaneshiro and Sofia Torres are just a stroke back of Bersdottir at 2-over. Both birdied the opening hole with Kaneshiro adding one more on the ninth and Torres on the 18th.

Colorado State will tee off the second round on Tuesday, May 7 beginning at 9:55 pm. The Rams will be paired with Oklahoma and Cal as they tee off the first hole. Live results can be found on GolfStat.
