COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado State graduate Andrea Bergsdottir has been named the Mountain West Women’s Golfer of the Week, while San Diego State’s Emma Narita has been tabbed the MW Women’s Golf Freshman of the Week.

The weekly honor is the third for Bergsdottir, who was also recognized on Feb. 8 and Feb. 29 of this season. The weekly award is Narita’s first.

GOLFER OF THE WEEK
ANDREA BERGSDOTTIR, COLORADO STATE
Graduate, Gothenburg, Sweden/Kitas Natur
• Won the Fresno State Classic at Copper River Country Club in Fresno, California.
• Shot a 4-under-par 212 and captured her second tournament win of the season, becoming the second player in program history to win twice in a season.
• Bookended the event with rounds of 3-under 69 and 4-under 68, with a bogey-free final round helping her rally from two strokes down for the win.
• Was a tournament-best 6-under on the par-5 holes and 1-under on the par-4s.
• Led Colorado State to its second straight tournament win and program-record third of the season. The Rams finished four strokes clear of the field, which included fellow MW squads Fresno State and Nevada and nine teams ranked in the top 100 nationally.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
EMMA NARITA, SAN DIEGO STATE
Tokyo, Japan/Gakushuin HS
• Tied for 24th out of 90 golfers at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic at the University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Georgia.
• Shot a 6-over-par 222, opening with a round of 2-under 70, her team-best fourth round under par this season.
• Led San Diego State for the fifth time this season.
• Jumped 62 spots in the national rankings after her showing at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic.
• Helped the Aztecs to a 14th-place finish in a loaded field that included seven teams ranked in the top 50 nationally and five in the top 25.
