COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado State graduate Andrea Bergsdottir has been named the Mountain West Women’s Golfer of the Week and the Rams’ Kara Kaneshiro has been tabbed the MW Freshman of the Week as the pair swept the honors for the second time this season.

The weekly honors are the second for both athletes, who also claimed the distinction on Feb. 8. Kaneshiro was also the MW Freshman of the Month for September.

GOLFER OF THE WEEK
ANDREA BERGSDOTTIR, COLORADO STATE
Graduate, Gothenburg, Sweden/Kitas Natur
• Tied for second at the Westbrook Invitational at the Westbrook Golf Club in Peoria, Arizona.
• Finished one stroke out of first place with a 13-under-par 203.
• Recorded three rounds in the 60s, opening with a 3-under 69 before carding a 4-under 68 and a 6-under 66, matching the lowest round of her career.
• Helped Colorado State to a seventh-place finish in a field that included three teams ranked in the top 50 nationally.
• Tied for the tournament lead with 18 birdies en route to her second straight top-five finish.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
KARA KANESHIRO, COLORADO STATE
Honolulu, Hawai‘i/Kalani HS
• Shot a 2-under-par 214 to tie for 40th at the Westbrook Invitational at the Westbrook Golf Club in Peoria, Arizona.
• Opened her tournament with consecutive rounds of even-par 72 before firing a 2-under 70 to finish it.
• Helped the Rams to a seventh-place team finish in a field that included three top-50 squads.
