COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – New Mexico junior Aniyah Augmon has been tabbed the Mountain West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Fresno State’s Taija Sta. Maria garnered the MW Women’s Basketball Freshman of the Week nod.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

ANIYAH AUGMON, NEW MEXICO

Junior, Guard, San Jose, California/Woodside Priory School

  • Led the Lobos to a win over Colorado State (62-46).
  • Recorded her second double-double of the season with a game-high and career-high tying 22 points and a career-high 16 rebounds.
  • Shot 57.1 percent from the field (8-of-14), 40 percent from the three-point line (2-of-5) and 57.1 percent from the charity stripe (4-of-7).
  • Additionally, contributed two assists and one steal for the Lobos.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

TAIJA STA. MARIA, FRESNO STATE

Guard, Vaughan, Ontario, Canada/Crestwood Preparatory College

  • Logged 18 points, four assists and two rebounds on the week.
  • At Colorado State, posted seven points, shooting 40 percent from the field and 75 percent from beyond the arc.
  • Against then-No.25 UNLV, registered 11 points, shooting 50 percent from the field and 75 percent from three-point range.
