COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – New Mexico junior Nyah Wilson has been named the Mountain West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while San Diego State’s Mia Davis garnered the MW Women’s Basketball Freshman of the Week nod.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

NYAH WILSON, NEW MEXICO

Junior, Guard, Dallas, Texas / Syracuse

  • Led the Lobos to a 2-0 week with wins over Fresno State (84-77) and Air Force (66-51).
  • Averaged 24 points, seven rebounds, two assists, shot 58.3 percent from the field (14-24) and 83.3 percent from the charity stripe (20-of-24).
  • Against the Bulldogs, logged a career-high 24 points shooting 7-of-13 from the floor and 10-of-12 from the free throw line. Her 10 made free throws marked a career high.
  • Recorded her first career double-double against the Falcons with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Shot 63.6 percent (7-of-11) from the field and contributed two assists.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

MIA DAVIS, SAN DIEGO STATE

Guard, Phoenix, Arizona / Dream City Christian

  • Helped the Aztecs to an undefeated week against Utah State (76-62) and Boise State (79-54).
  • Averaged 12 points on the week and made seven threes for San Diego State, shooting 8-of-16 from the field and 7-of-10 from beyond the arc.
  • At Utah State, logged a career-high 18 points, 17 points and five threes came in the second half. Also posted a career-high three-steals in Logan.
  • Against Boise, contributed six points, two-of-two from three-point land, three rebounds, two steals and one assist.
