COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Four Mountain West players earned spots on the 2023 College Football News All-America Teams.

Colorado State paced the MW with a pair of selections, with tight end Dallin Holker earning second-team honors and edge Mohamed Kamara taking a spot on the third team.

UNLV placekicker Jose Pizano and Boise State punter James Ferguson-Reynolds were also third-team selections.

One of three national finalists for the 2023 John Mackey Award, Holker earned second-team All-America honors from a host of organizations. The Lehi, Utah native, who has declared for the NFL Draft, had 64 receptions and 767 receiving yards, which were the most by any tight end during the 2023 season.

Kamara led the MW with 13.0 sacks and 17.0 tackles for loss, ranking fourth nationally with 1.08 sacks per contest, ninth in tackles for loss at 1.4 per. His sack total was the third best for a season in school history, his TFLs tied for eighth. He finished his CSU career with 30.5 sacks and 45.5 tackles for loss. His sack figure ranks second in school history behind Clark Haggans and also in the Mountain West behind Curtis Weaver of Boise State. His career TFL numbers rank third at CSU, fifth in the conference.

Pizano, also a native of Lehi, Utah, shattered the UNLV record book, setting new marks for field goals in a game (six) and a season (26), kicking points in a game (19) and a season (133) while also breaking the Rebel record for consecutive field goals made with 19. He was the 2023 Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Year .

Ferguson-Reynolds led the FBS in punting in 2023, averaging 49.7 yards per punt. That average marks the sixth-best season average in FBS history, just shy of a spot in the top five as he finishes right behind Iowa’s Reggie Roby 49.84 average in 1981.
