LOGAN, Utah — Utah State men’s basketball was ranked No. 16 in the AP Poll and No. 17 in the Coaches Poll on Monday.

Utah State is 16-1, including a 4-0 Mountain West mark, under first-year USU head coach Danny Sprinkle.

Overall, it is the 10th time in school history that Utah State has been nationally ranked. USU’s highest-ever ranking was in 1960 when it was No. 7 in the nation.

The Aggies, who are coming off an 87-86 road victory at UNLV, have won 15-straight games, which is tied for the longest active streak in the nation. The win streak is tied for the sixth-longest in program history.

Utah State ranks in the top 50 in the nation in several categories, including defensive 3-point field goal percentage (.276, 9th), field goal percentage (.501, 11th), scoring margin (+15.35, 18th), assists per game (17.53, 20th), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.56, 20th), rebounding margin (+6.82, 28th) and scoring offense (81.88, 34th).

Graduate senior guard Darius Brown II ranks second in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio (4.81) and third in assists per game (7.35, 3rd). Junior wing Great Osobor ranks 23rd in the nation in rebounds per game (9.65), 32nd in defensive rebounds per game (6.71), 42nd in field goal percentage (.585) and 46th in points per game (18.88).

Utah State returns to action on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at New Mexico (14-3, 2-2 MW) in a game that will be nationally televised on Fox Sports 1. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.
